Synopsis

Edward Ridgeway (Alden Ehrenreich), a young New Yorker with a mysterious agenda, travels to the Swiss village where Patricia Highsmith (Helen Mirren) lives in self-imposed exile. His goal: persuade the reclusive, ailing crime novelist to write one final Tom Ripley novel. As Edward ingratiates himself into Highsmith's cloistered world — navigating her caretaker Peggy (Juliet Stevenson) and the watchful Balfour family — his true motives blur between literary obsession, financial opportunism, and something far darker.

What begins as a battle of wits between writer and acolyte gradually curdles into a psychological duel where manipulation flows both ways, and the line between biography and fiction dissolves in the thin Alpine air.
