As You Were (2026)

Harris Telemacher (William Butler) drifts through New York City in a fog of half-relationships and career uncertainty, unable to commit to anything — until the city itself begins speaking to him through surreal, magical-realist interventions. As talking statues, shifting weather, and chance encounters nudge him toward clarity, Harris navigates a complicated dynamic with his ex Lynne (Vivi Aiello), a tentative new connection with Rowan (Em Cabra Koch), and the well-meaning chaos of his friend group.

Billed as a loose homage to Steve Martin's L.A. Story, the film follows Harris's compressed journey from paralysis to tentative forward motion, using New York's energy as both backdrop and active participant in his awakening.
