Etched In Pavement (2026)

In Detroit's overlooked neighborhoods, childhood friends Dwane Taylor and Michael Futrell navigate the parallel worlds of competitive boxing and community activism. Over four years, filmmaker John Sippel documents their journey from youth gyms to professional rings, alongside their work building Guns Down, Gloves Up — a street-level initiative redirecting conflict into controlled combat. As fatherhood and loss reshape their perspectives, the film traces how two men inherit, challenge, and redefine a legacy of fighting that stretches back generations.
