Synopsis

In a postwar Yorkshire colliery, a miner discovers his trousers have been stolen from the locker room. What begins as a crude prank spirals into a community-wide inquest, as accusations fly and long-buried secrets surface. The incident becomes a catalyst for examining the fragile codes of masculinity, loyalty, and silence that bind the men together — and the price of maintaining them.

As the investigation widens, the colliery's power structures — union, management, chapel — each attempt to control the narrative, revealing more about their own hypocrisies than the original theft. The film builds toward a confrontation that forces the community to face what it has collectively chosen not to see.
