Jabari needs a fish. His friend's birthday party is looming, and the gift — or perhaps the centerpiece — requires a live aquatic purchase. What should be a straightforward stop at the pet store becomes the framework for an entire feature, as the transaction unfolds in real time or near-real time, testing patience, revealing character, and possibly spiraling into unexpected complications.

With a single location and a near-solo cast anchored by a register worker, Julian strips the comedy genre to its barest bones: one man, one errand, and the thin line between mundane and memorable.
