Synopsis

In a near‑future suburb, Klara — an Artificial Friend designed to observe and learn — waits in a store window for a child to choose her. When Josie, a bright but ailing teenager, brings Klara home, the two form an immediate bond that unsettles Josie’s overprotective mother and reveals cracks in the family’s recent loss. As Klara’s innocent curiosity and unwavering loyalty intertwine with Josie’s fragile world, the line between programmed function and genuine affection blurs, prompting both the humans and the machine to confront what it truly means to be a friend.
