Sonora (2026)

In a modest Brazilian house, three unrelated residents navigate an uneasy coexistence during the feverish lead-up to a presidential election. Ayla, a young Indigenous trans woman, carries a pregnancy in near-silence. Ferreirinha, a failed accountant, fills his days with pro-Bolsonaro conspiracy videos and delusions of political relevance. Sebastião, an elderly widower, wages a quiet war against the overgrown garden consuming his yard. As campaign sound trucks, evangelical hymns, and political jingles blast from the streets, the house's thin walls offer no shelter — the public sphere invades, amplifies, and distorts their private lives.
