Synopsis

In a pastel-hued 1960s suburb, Barney Amberson (Alex Brett) goes through the daily rituals of family life — breakfast, chores, bedtime stories — with a wife and children who happen to be department-store mannequins. His neighbors watch with a mix of confusion and polite distance, while Barney tends to his silent household with unwavering devotion.

The film observes these routines without judgment, letting the absurd premise sit alongside genuine tenderness. As the day unfolds, the line between performance and genuine connection blurs, leaving Barney’s motivation — grief, delusion, or a radical act of self-definition — open to interpretation.
