The Shards (2026)

Set in the sun-drenched, opulent world of 1981 Los Angeles, The Shards centers on a 17-year-old version of author Bret Easton Ellis during his final year at the prestigious Buckley prep school. His sheltered existence is upended by the arrival of Robert Mallory, a mysterious new student whose unsettling demeanor and cryptic behavior quickly draw the attention of the school's elite and the local police.

As the body count rises in the city due to the activities of a serial killer known as "The Trawler," the line between the fictionalized Ellis's internal turmoil and the external horror begins to blur. The series explores the intersection of teenage alienation, the dark underbelly of 1980s Los Angeles, and the disturbing realization that the monster on the loose may be a reflection of the observer himself.
