Under the Peach Trees: The Story of the Hochstetler Family (2026)

At a massive family reunion, hundreds of Hochstetler descendants gather to honor their common ancestor, Jacob Hochstetler, an Amish settler on the Pennsylvania frontier during the French and Indian War. Through a mix of present-day interviews and historical reenactments, the film recounts the 1757 attack on the Hochstetler homestead, the family's capture, and their subsequent adoption into Native American communities—a ordeal that reshaped the family's identity across generations.

The documentary-drama hybrid follows the modern gathering as a framing device while dramatizing the harrowing events of the 1750s, exploring themes of faith, survival, and cultural collision on the colonial borderlands.
