Whalefall (2026)

After his father’s sudden death, Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams) dives off the central California coast hoping to locate the body. A massive sperm whale engulfs him, trapping Jay in its stomach with roughly an hour of breathable air. As the clock ticks, Jay must rely on the diving wisdom his father instilled in him to devise an escape before the oxygen runs out.

The film intertwines the present‑day struggle with flashbacks that reveal the strained yet instructive relationship between Jay and his father, Mitt (Josh Brolin). With limited resources and a relentless environment, Jay’s fight becomes as much psychological as physical.
